If you have never had the joy of attending a college history based class you may not have had the honor of attending a sectional. These are small breakdowns of typically large classes that meet once a week to discuss what has been happening in class. It is the chance for students to ask question and in the case of my particular sectional debate the practical applications of the topics at hand.

Universal Health Care
The prevalent idea of the omnipotent power of the free market has the majority of Americans willing to accept the system of healthcare available today. However, the implications of the lack of Universal Health care are wide and far reaching.

Universal Health Care!! (is it really so bad?)
I was watching the Movie Sicko by Michael moore and i decided i would pose the question What is really wrong about Universal Health Care.

Should social status influence who gets medical treatment? Why or why not?
The first question is how do you define social status? Is it defined by how much money you make and who you know, location, or is this defined by citizenship?

Reefer Madness
Most people I've heard speak about the legalization of marijuana had just taken a puff off of a bong. I quit smoking pot when I was in my very early 20s. I do believe that it is in society's best interest to legalize it for many reasons.

Reaction to Michael Moore's "Sicko"
Michael Moore's "Sicko" is worth watching. Even if you don't agree with Moore's politics or think he's the devil in disguise, seeing how foreigners view health care is interesting. Moore goes to France, Canada, England, and Cuba to look at how universal health care is run by each government.

Where does all the money come from for Obama's health plan?
Looking more into each issue that he discusses.
Issue:
Health Care
He wants quality, affordable and portable healthcare.
(I don't have a problem with that)
In the "Public Plan" He wants to make health care available to everyone.
He wants to set affordable premiums,co pays and deductables.

Universal health care does not necessarily mean universal spectacles
Seeing as how health care seems to be a very relevant issue for the presidential primaries (and the upcoming election), I thought I'd write a quick little blog entry concerning what I know about universal health care.
