The Meaning of Love

The ability of language to be distorted is unfortunate. In linguistics we talk about discreteness, that is recognizing individual sounds and recombining them following specific guidelines to form new words.

What is Love ?

Sometimes, love is nothing but a fat ass scapegoat. The word is overused and abused, pummeled into a meaningless pulp by assholes looking for an excuse for erratic behavior. Beyonce wasn't "Crazy in Love". That bitch was just crazy. Scratch the quotations. Crazy.

You and your sweetie just came from a romantic dinner. You had a great time. You feel like this person knows you so well…he only one that gets you. You can’t imagine how you survived living without this person….you’re heart. You never want this night to end so you and your baby head over to your place for...desert.

I believe that Aristophanes’s explanation of us being "separated" from our other half, then having to search for them is right metaphorically. We are here searching for our “other half”; the one person who completes us. Love is something you can experience over and over, but finding your soul mate, or your “other half” is something that will only happen once in a lifetime.

I don't believe in impossible, but the world around me does. I feel that I can do all things through Christ that strenghtens me --Phil 4:13  I also understand that times will come when I need strength. I thought that I was asking for too much in an significant other, but now I see that time heals all wounds.

why is it that we are all so focused on finding "the one"

everywhere i turn i seem to hear someone say

"i think this is the one God has for me"

why is it so important?

Where, oh where, have the good guy gone? Where, oh where, could they be?
