I'm one of those avid sports fans. I play any sport whenever I can and I love watching ESPN and pretty much any channel that airs a sports broadcast. Recently I was asked a question that really had me boggled for awhile. My professor asked how much sports affect and control the society we live in.  Read More »

March Madness!

March Madness has come upon us once again, and for those college students out there, I'm sure you're having a blast rooting against your rival schools. As a girl, my bracket is often put down by the guys because they think they have more of an insight into sports than I do. Bringing it back!

I was out of breath and couldn't fathom going through the entire routing from start to finish one more time. I had less than fifteen seconds to get to my spot so we could run the entire show again. We had a week before our final competition, and we called it "hell week." Estrogen flamed like fire, and everyone was temperamental. The team was an all girl squad.  Read More »

A Wisconsin Icon or Adios to the best!

Tagged:  •    •    •

I have to take a few moments to say thank you to one of my personal heros. He has shown that hard work and perseverence along with intelligence and desire can create in someone a fire to do the sometimes impossible. Brett Favre played the game of Football with a passion few harbor these days.  Read More »

Wrestling Comradery and the Value of Team Sports.

Tagged:  •    •    •    •    •    •

As a three year wrestler I have experienced many things. I have suffered through elbows in the back of my head and having the air squeezed from my lungs. I have also done the same and worse to many complete strangers. I have pushed my body beyond any limit I thought I had. I have watched pools of sweat form around my hands as I attempted to do more push ups than I could count. Was it worth it?  Read More »
