Hypocricy: crying out about Darfur and Kenya while avoiding eye contact and crossing the road to purposely ignore the homeless man sitting on the sidewalk asking for change. Or maybe he's just sitting there.

I know, I know. Darfur and Kenya are far away.

Why should so many have to sadly face

I was talking to my dad the other day and he was telling me about a new form of terrorism that would cast devastating effects on the world, especially the United States. We have become so very heavily dependant on technology that virtually everything runs on some form of energy or technology.

In a world of global communication and interaction, it is essential that Americans learn to understand, appreciate, and accept those who share unique cultural characteristics. Ethnocentrism should have no place in a society where minority groups are increasingly becoming the majority of the population.
