I just finished reading East of Eden and it struck me just how important a role sibling rivalry plays in our lives. For those of you who don’t know, East of Eden is the story of two generations of brothers. One of the most striking parallels is to the story of Cain and Abel in the Bible.
I have stuggled throughout my life to make things make sense. There are many parts of my past that I've hid from myself because I just don't want to remember, but as I lay staring at the ceiling at night in sleepless wonder, I start to put things back together.
It’s Friday. Thank goodness. And, needless to say, I am once again, bored.
It seems to me that bordem is much like necessity; it is the mother of invention. I have found that the most obscure, and random thoughts come from bordem. As do indeed, ways of entertaining ones self. There is a saying; “bored teenagers are dangerous”.
I agree with that completely.
Brothers...Sometimes I wonder why God made them....Sometimes I wonder what I would do without them. As my junior year comes to an end, I realize how much our lives our going to change and already have. My oldest brother Tyler left about a year ago for Kansas and now he has a daughter on they way. Kyle's getting married in a few months and they're looking at houses.
As I was preparing a blog post on racism, I came to a realization. All of my blog posts that have concentrated on racism and discrimination have centered around black and white relations. I noticed that many other blogs I read on the issue, also centered around these two historically divergent groups.
