Unless you've been in hiding, I'm pretty sure that you're well aware of the eight students from Lakeland, FL that have been charged with kidnapping and battery, among other charges, for their collective attack on a fellow student. Although the media has covered many aspects of the story, I still have one question.
Where were these teenagers' parents?
Check out this article...Third Graders in George plotted to kill their teacher after she punished one them. Apparently, school officals confiscated duct tape, kitchen knives, rope and many other items...a little frightening, huh?

It seems like everyday we see something on the news about school shootings. School is one of the places that you are supposed to feel very safe at but now that things are changing and many people are getting killed at school, people don't feel safe anymore. Violence is everywhere and it truly needs to be stopped. Sometimes I go to school and wonder if I will leave school alive.
There comes a point where you become desensitized to violence. With a long war going on and intense coverage of deaths, who would be surprised that the majority of teens are absolutely unfazed by killings. However, there is a point where this hits close to home. I was a student of a Virginia high school, as is my little brother, and my youngest brother will be at that point in a few more years.
Since it is about twenty-two hours following the act I am sure most are conscious of the latest campus shooting at Northern Illinois University.
First question on everybody's mind is "why"?
Another school shooting, taking place at Northern Illinois University. One John Giovanni, shot at several students, killing four on the scene, including killing himself afterwards, while his other victims died at their arrival to the hospital.
I have been noticing a lot of violence in our schools now days. It makes me sad to think that thse kids were put in these situations and no one was paying enough attention to notice something was wrong before it happened.
