I need a hero!

So I got on the site and saw that I’m Featured Blogger for the week. I took it in stride, and was very pleased… Okay, who am I kidding? I skipped around my house like a Munchkin. Thank you, whomever nominated me!

With that little PSA moment, I have an issue. Yes, it has to do with school.

Progressive Facebook, Day Three: "Don't Follow in my Footsteps; I Run Into Walls"

Day three of my quest to find progressivism in the Pieces of Flair application on Facebook, and on the second page of recently popular Flair, I come across a white one with black footprints in the middle. Above the footprints, it reads "Don't follow in my footsteps," and below them, it continues, "I run into walls."

Humorous, yes? But if you really think about it...

All of my heroes are dead

Tagged:  •    •

Well, maybe not all of them, but the majority of people that I look up to as role models are no longer living. A lot of the people who inspire me are deceased or assassinated political activists, authors, actresses and actors. This is troubling to me, because I know that I'm not the only one.

But Daddy Did It...

A brilliant idea: two boys have constant problems with each other in school. The counselors decide it would be best to get their parents together to discuss solutions to the fighting. It would be brilliant... except the reason those two boys are bullies to each other is apparently the influence of their daddies.

I subscribe to Star Magazine-- but only because I got it for free from a rebate from Office Depot. I also subscribe to U.S. News & World Report. Also free. And I must say, these publications are exactly what they offer: Free Dirt.
