Parting Sideways: Help the children, or hurt them
A little while ago, I had been at target with a couple of friends. There was a group of preteens dangling about, most on bikes, although one or two had stolen a(couple) electric shopping cart(s). They were asking for trouble, and were soon to be chased out by an employee. One of the kids asked me if I wanted to play chicken (being the only of my [high school] friends on a bike). Somewhat amused, I consented (this all happened in the parking lot, mind you). I would have hit the kid, but he pulled away just in time.
