So Tall I Take Over the Street... I’m a Festival, I’m a Parade

"You must be a basketball player."
"You should model."
"How’s the weather up there? ::Hyuck hyuck::"

Though I read something online saying I’m not allowed to call myself tall unless I find it nearly impossible to find clothing that fits me, at 5 foot, 9 inches I easily surpass the height of many of my friends.

And I endure the tall stereotypes.

How Factual Are Your Facts?

In a previous blog, I posted that I do not understand statistics in the least. After studying to the point of insanity, I now see statistics in an entirely new way. I can now read percentages and question where these numbers came from. Are they a true representative sample of the population? How big was their sample size? What kinds of bias are involved with the results?

Child Arsonists Part 3: An Observational Study

As children grow, their minds and their understanding of the world grow as well. Those who study juvenile fire setting behaviors believe that a correlation exists between the age of a fire starter and the likelihood that future fires will be set by the child.

Sleep: Women vs. Men

Tagged:  •    •    •    •    •    •

I was reading an article posted under the "Topics of the Week" and was shocked to learn that women with difficulty sleeping developed more health problems in their future than men with similar sleep patters. The difference lie mainly in heart problems and the production of insulin, leading to type II diabetes. As an insomniac myself, I was forced to do a little more research on the subject.

Meet me, rate me, love me, hate me.

So, I'm new to the site. Funny how my blogs always work- I start out not knowing what to say, and end up not knowing where to stop.

Elegance in the small stuff: I'll be damned if I step out of the way and watch as we self destruct.

A formal introduction of myself to Progressive U.

The farthest I’ve ever traveled from home is a couple hours’ drive away to a small town in Tennessee where my Aunt Evon lives. My sister Krista and I spent a summer there when I was thirteen, and MAN did we have fun. We went to Dollywood, the best place on Earth, and spent long, lazy afternoons at the local pool. Krista and I were raised in the Catholic tradition, so when my Aunt took us to her small-town Baptist church we experienced a bit of culture shock- and came home promising not to fall into the mire and wondering what it meant to be saved.
