In Oregon the debate over whether or not homosexuals should have the right to marry. The ballot failed, and, as with many other state in the US, it is now illegal for homosexuals to get married in Oregon.
Quite honestly, I can understand homophobia to an extent, though I personally think it's silly (if not stupid) and a fear that comes more out of ignorance than any real psychological root, like most other fears - the fear of heights or spiders, for example. Still, I understand how homosexuality might make people uncomfortable. What I just cannot wrap my mind around is the fact that people think it's OK to say that homosexuals do not have the right marry.
