I had a conversation with friends over the weekend about our natural desire for vengeance and how this is different from real justice. It was quite enlightening for me, so I'd like to throw my thoughts out there.

I used to think to myself all the time as a kid, "I just don't get them," refering to my parents. I'm guessing this statement will resonate with many of you out there in Blog World. At some point I gave up and just accepted who they are. However, questions about them have gone unanswered. That is, until now.

The Bible, rather than being a literal interpretation of human history from Adam and Eve on, can be viewed as a cycle of sin and redemption, conflict between brothers, and the eventual resolution of sin and exile.
