We're sell-outs. We'll rebel our whole lives as teenagers, constantly defying the authority telling us not to do... whatever it is that we want to do that parents and teachers don't want us to do.

On January 17, 1961, President Dwight D. Eisenhower warned America about the dangers of the military industrial complex. Forty six years later, what Eisenhower described as “the potential for the disastrous rise of misplaced power” is very much alive. The idea that something so sinister and corrupt has been allowed to infiltrate the American way of life is appalling.

Contrary to popular belief and to the title of this note, I haven't ALWAYS been a badass. Sure, I've had my moments of rebellion (the whole Hot Topic tee shirt incident comes to mind), but I've always been a slave to authority. A bitch to the establishment.

However, today--as I approach the end of my "100% structure" program here at the HG, I broke not just one rule.....BUT TWO.

I want to take a moment to talk to you about piercings. Many people have them, many people like them, just as many people can't stand them. The question I'm asking here is what makes a piercing different than other jewelry?

We are entering in to such a different era than the one that just passed. Times are changing and I think it's time to work on a bond stronger than the pitiful compilation of nations as the U.N.

It's amazing to see and hear people's responses to Christianity. And not just Christianity, but evangelism.
