Somehow my most popular blog on here thus far is one entitled "Shoving a Penis Down Her Throat," a quick little rant about the overzealous nature of incorporating sex into commercial hip hop. I have received both positive and negative comments in response but one stuck out to me in particular. A fellow Progressive U member asked why I don't bother blogging about the porn industry.
I'm no feminist but I draw lines at the objectification of women... and men.
I was recently at a party with a playlist of those "bumpin' club hits" with repetitive beats, makeshift attempts at rhymes and cliche catchy hooks. Of course, this playlist consisted of eight or so songs and they played over and over the entire night.
What happened to rap and hip-hop? Just the other day I was driving around in my friend’s car when we heard a song on the radio. I thought it had a good sound but then I started listening to the lyrics,

Dictionary.com defines music as an art of sound in time that expresses ideas and emotions in significant forms through the elements of rhythm, melody, harmony, and color. Though this definition is great, I feel as though it is no longer accurate.
ok lets talk about the situation with TI. some of the people at my school believe he was set up because the bodyguard was new. But it really makes one wonder why in the hell would TI want to buy 5 machine guns. I dont think he would buy them just to have or just to show. I think he was going to use them on someone. Lets be serious, gun are expensive pieces of merchandise.
Okay, so I dont really KNOW, but i definitely have a theory.
I think that the man who killed Biggie was....(hold your breath).....none other than....P.Diddy. (you can breathe now).
50 cent's going to quit his solo career if Kanye West outsells him....oh my gosh.....that's amazing.......that's top quality news for ya. But somehow it's got my entire school and the rest of the united states buzzing. Doesn't anyone see that this is just a mutually beneficial marketing ploy?
So I love what I like to call music...well I have to say "what I call music" because a lot of stuff can pass for music but is it really??? I think this classifies as personal freedom, shared responsibility and better future...I hope you think the same way.
