I hate to be another person commenting on one of the ever prominent issues of this current presidential race, but I just can't help it. Being a woman of color, and a Political Science major, race is an issue that is constantly brought up to me. I do have to admit thoough that I am slightly biased and tend to lean towards issues that affect minorities and women seeing that I fit both categories.

Straddling the Racial Line: Does It Really Matter If He's Black AND White?

A Better America Part 2:Why are we called African American??
This is a pivotal time in America. Presidental candidates are defending thier faith, which seems like an oxymoron (separation of church and state). Race is one of the hottest topics in politics. Don Imus, still is not forgotten. Why?

A Better America:A question for those who cannot understand the feelings of Rev. Jeremiah Wright
First, you must understand the context of Rev. Wrights message. If you read carefully in my earlier threads, I along with clergymen have said that it is a tactic to stir up debate, like the one we are having, to present a radical view. Once this radical view is presented it is up to the congregation(us) to settle on to what degree the view is upheld.

Progressive is Playing in a Sandbox.
See there? In the middle of this playground, past the rusty swingset, and the off-axis merry-go-round. Just over there next to the willow, theres a whole crayola box of children playing in the sandbox.

I've Been Sooo Much More Opressed Than You!
I was thinking about the 2008 election, and the democratic candidates especially. More specifically, I was pondering that subconcious question: Who has it worse? Blacks or Women? Who has been more oppressed? Borack or Hilary?

I am Anti-American!! Does that make me anti-White? Is America senonymous with White people?
Why is it that America is so stuck on race? Today Barack Obama answers critics questions about the words of his church's pastor Rev. Jeremiah Wright. Why?

Wee Tiny Racism
I'm telling this story not to incite further debate on the state of racism today, but rather to illustrate the lengths to which we must go to combat our natural tendencies toward segregation.
