The right to protect and defend on campus

Even in our world that seems so full of hate, violence, mistrust, shame, and abuse, I would wholeheartedly argue that true love still exists and is all around us.

This year we had a debate resolution about protecting the rights of unborn children...most speakers went in negation assuming the resolution simply meant abortion...I think the issue is way deeper than that...

It seems like everyday we see something on the news about school shootings. School is one of the places that you are supposed to feel very safe at but now that things are changing and many people are getting killed at school, people don't feel safe anymore. Violence is everywhere and it truly needs to be stopped. Sometimes I go to school and wonder if I will leave school alive.

Recently in my class in school we were talking about the topic gun control, and I have been thinking about it. At first I felt like guns should be taken away from all people who have them for hunting and no "real" purpose but to kill animals; only reason they are needed it for police and such to protect people. BUT I happened to change my mind about it recently also.

Sometimes I wonder if people look at cases of supposed "police brutality" as objectively as they should. Or if they simply hate cops and are looking for a reason to defame them in any way possible. These people are not being as objective as they should be.
