New Rating Feature

There we go again. Some of you might have noticed that we've been fiddling quite a bit with the site.

One of the modules we've been using on this site for about two years now is called "Fivestar" - a module that allows for very simple rating of certain types of content without requiring the page to be refreshed after. It's a great module and we love it.  Read More »

Introducing the Featured Bloggers feature

Many of you from Fall 2006 contest and before are likely to remember the Featured Blogger feature that we had in place. How Has ProU Impacted Your Life?

Hello, Progressive U bloggers!

Happy 4th of July! I hope everyone is having a wonderful day and an oustanding week!

As you reflect on America's independence, I also ask you to think about how Progressive U has impacted your life. We all blog for progress and for a more positive world. But, what has ProU taught you in past few months? Have you written more because of ProU? Have your grammar skills improved? Do you respect other people's thoughts more? Whatever ProU done for YOU, we want to READ your comments. Don't hold back when telling us how ProU has influenced your life. If you read more books, TELL US!  Read More »

Don't say farewell

The end of the Spring 2007 Blogging for Progress Scholarship competition was yesterday. We know that the chance for a scholarship is a major incentive, but we hope that you have enjoyed the experience enough that you will keep coming back.

It normally takes up to two weeks for us to review point totals and posts of potential winners, contact winners, and receive confirmation of their acceptance. We plan to be finished with that process by July 15 at the latest, and we will post an announcement at that time (or earlier, if we finish the process early).  Read More »

High school soph's and juniors, democracy is not a spectator sport!

In the lastest poll a few of you replied that politics is pointless, and certainly others are not satisfied with the status quo for politics. But even if you aren't satisfied with traditional politics, if you have spent any amount of time on Progressive U you realize that you can't afford to just sit back and watch. What better way to take matters into you own hands than to study the "state of the union" and debate what needs to be done this summer at one of the countries top universities?  Read More »
