Patchwork Nation: Do You Match Your Patch?

According to Patchwork Nation, I live in a Monied Burb. Those of you who’ve followed my blogs may be thinking, “What? I thought you lived in the ‘hood?” I do. I don’t exactly match my patch. Patchwork Nation is a project by Dante Chinni that attempts to expand the political categories in the U.S. beyond red and blue. The project categorizes every area of the United States using the same kind of market research that the candidates’ speech writers use: income, education level, profession, and religion. Though it has its limitations, the Patchwork map of the U.S. is a much more vibrant quilt than the Blue State/Red State map we’ve all seen so many times!

So the presidential campaign just got interesting! Haha...ok I hope you found the sarcasm in that comment. But seriously, now the "gloves are off!" I'm sure you saw it--FOX news was playing the interview between Hannity and Rev. Wright all day yesterday, each time insisting it was "Breaking news!" I'm not sure how something can be breaking news 54 times in a day (probably more!

Keep Fighting, Barrack and Hillary

When I open the newspaper everyday, it warms my heart to see headlines like "Hillary launches attack on Obama", or, "Obama defends against withering attacks". I LOVE seeing those two tear each other apart. I LOVE seeing the Democrat Party be so passionate about choosing their candidate rather than being passionate about winning the general election. Why do I love these things so much?
