Breaking News -Tim Russert--Meet the Press- Host dies on the Job.

The Washington Bureau Chief for NBC is gone, Vice President of NBC.
Everybody's mentor in the News died today of a heart attack on the Job. It happened at 1:45 or 2:00 pm EST.
People were openly crying.

President Bush gave his condolences.
Tom Brokaw was quite broken up in the first official announcement from NBC News!
Barack has said he will be missed.
McCain was saddened.

Torture Torture Everywhere...

So, the president of the good old USA has decided to veto a bill that would stop waterboarding. What can you say to this really? Oh, it's torture. There's no debate about that in my mind. I guess I should have expected as much coming from a guy who executes the mentally handicapped and takes money away from the Boys and Girls Clubs. And that No Child Left Behind Act?

Bush Vetoes Child Healthcare Bill

Bush vetoed a proposed healthcare bill meant to expand children’s health coverage. It is only the fourth time that Bush has used his veto power, says the BBC. Bush vetoed the bill because he felt that it was inconsistent with the intended nature of the bill. He felt that it would cause people whose children were insured to take advantage of the bill, causing greater expense.

Bush Helps the Middle and Lower Classes Afford College

Thursday September 27, 2007, President Bush signed legislation that raised the maximum Pell grant from 4,310 a year to 5,400 a year.  The legislation also cuts the interest rates on federally backed student loans from 6.8 to 3.4 percent.  The cost of this increase in financial aid is roughly $20 billion, which is to be paid for by cuts in subsidies that the government makes to banks.
