My husband brought up a curious point about the pledge of allegiance by quoting “one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all” and asking me what the meant. We continued to hashing it out having a little fun with it

I am a public high school student, and every day I hear the Pledge of Allegiance. And daily, I wonder why I am forced to listen to the words "under God" being uttered in this speech every day by my classmates. Why must I, an atheist, say "under God?" I don't believe in God.

The Pledge of Allegiance - Choice or requirement?
For years students have said the pledge of allegiance everyday at school, very few of them choosing not to do so. At one time the Supreme Court ruled against students who did not recite the pledge, making it a requirement. Since then, the Supreme Court has changed its decision and made it a choice.

I Don't Believe in the Pledge.
Yes, I said it. I don't believe in the Pledge of Allegiance.
But before you scroll all the way down and post a comment saying that I'm crazy and you can't believe I'm posting this on here, let me explain.
