Art, Culture, and Nuclear Weapons: Islam and India

Tagged:  •    •    •    •

This is a research paper I did on Islam in India for my History of the Middle East Class. I liked it. I think it's good, I got an A, but what do I know. I think it'll help people understand the situation between India and Pakistan that doesn't get a lot of press.

Ah….the first post. The leap into another facet of the blogosphere. Perhaps I should start this post off with a question. Or perhaps not.

First of all, if you've missed me, I'm terribly sorry. I've had a lot on my plate of late. But I simply couldn't let Musharraf off the hook any more. He needs a nice little verbal whipping from yours truly, then maybe he'll stop his shenanigans.

Pardon my response at the Newsweek Headline that makes is seem like Pakistan is in a worse condition or atmosphere than Iraq and poses “threat” to the World.

I hope people would read this to learn about Pakistan and Muslim countries, in general. We are not places where freedom of expression and art, is suffocated or where people don't care enough to protest against the power of their government.

Change is constant and we constantly change. I longed for things to remain the same but I have accepted and I have learned to live and love that things change.

Osama in my Back Pocket

In the aftermath of 9/11-well let's say right after it- there was a huge difference in how people thought of me or treated me. That is, I guess, pretty obvious since they probably just learned of my existence and on top of that, My Muslim existence. All of a sudden, my hijab became a symbol that allowed others to hate or fear me.
