Its a known fact that our country has an obesity problem. Its something we see everyday (I write this with a handful of chocolate covered peanuts at my side). Everything that our children are learning though, they are learning from us. From the ease in which to make a quick unhealthy meal to your avoidance of eating anything that may have once grown in the ground.
Obesity
Eat your vegies! Schools going green in more ways than one...
Obese Woman Kills Toddler
So this woman who is atleast 800 pounds and cannot leave her bed killed her 2 1/2 year old nephew. Now they charged this woman for murder, but they had to have the arraignment in her bedroom. Now why did they have to have the arraignment in her bedroom you ask? Because she can't get up from her freaking bed!

Way to go McDonald's
I walked into my local McDonald's the other day because my mother and I were hungry. I really don't eat fast food, but I was in the mood. I ordered a Quarter Pounder with Cheese meal and was asked, "Do you want your free Quarter Pounder with that?" I turned around and noticed a sign that said something like "Free Quarter Pounder or Big Mac with purchase of one of the same".
Tight Skin over Frail Bones
It seems that in this day and age of technology and paparazzi our generation is being forced to stare into an unreal image of what the media wants us to feel like we should look like. This may seem pessimistic and crudely blunt but it seems that there are extremely over-weight kids and super-skinny ones. What ever happened to a good normal sized teenager, or adult for that matter?

Eating Disorders: They go two ways
It's sad that we live in a world where more and more people are obese and at the same time models are dying from anorexia and bulimia. On the one hand the foods that we as a society are quickly consuming are full of junk and at the same time our girls (and some boys) are not eating anything, leaning over their toilets and letting go of what they ate, because of pressures to look a certain way.

Poor and Obese
I had a conversation the other day with a friend that immigrated here from the UK. He made a comment that most American poor are stereotypically obese. He didn't understand how, if these people were so poor, they could get enough food to be obese. The key word there is stereotypically, but I did explain my thoughts on the subject.

Obesity joke
Recently I heard a friend make a comment that was somewhat sarcastic and somewhat meant to be a joke but it made me wonder. The comment was if we yell at smokers for smoking and tell them to stop why then should we refrain from yelling at obese people and tell them to stop eating. Now this is a hard topic to cover because there are so many outside factors that this does not even consider.

McNazis, Food for the Nation.
You know it's bad when you go through the heart of your city and can't walk three feet without being bombarded with fast-food signs. We talk about being healthy yet we house fast food quarters all around. They spread like a bad rash to imperialize areas due to free enterprise.
