Ok. So, in my local newspaper today, I read about a Missouri woman who allegedly drove a thirteen-year-old girl to suicide by way of myspace.com. The forty-nine-year-old woman, named Lori Drew, supposedly created a myspace account under a fake sixteen-year-old boy's name (gotta love those hyphens). Through that, Drew is believed to have sent the young girl cruel messages.

Do video sharing sites like You Tube encourage violence and crime? To what extremes would one go to earn themselves a few minutes of fame?

There has been a lot of controversy over myspace, which is rather stupid to me. I have read in the papers and seen all of it on the news where kids are abducted and then some get raped. Answer this though, does myspace tell these people to do these horrid things? Does this website have any real link to these crimes?
I'm guilty of having a MySpace, that I hardly use maybe once a week, compared to my kid sisters, who range from 15-18, that take random pics of themselves in the bathroom wearing sunglasses. Strange, I know. That's what I thought. But, they aren't the only ones. Some girls that are about 12-13 pose in sexual positions and talk about how they love to smoke, drink alcohol and party everyday.
Today in society, we are all well aware of how great technology has become. We can not only use our cellphones, but we can use the internet more and more. Myspace for instance is great for communication. I love the concept of it all. Though it does have its downsides, I think it is a great tool that we can all use to keep in touch with people. It lets us reaffirm that we are not alone.
