Gun Control: Who do YOU want to exterminate?

This is an article about gun control I wrote for the school newspaper when I was a senior in high school. Just your typical conservative/libertarian argument against gun control. It's not necessarily 100% what I believe to this day, but I have love for all of my children.

Political Parties and Political Pickles

Politics. Politics, politics, politics. It's a source of hope, conflict, compromise, progress, and cynicism. When I turned 18 a few months ago, I immediately registered to vote, but was faced with a political predicament: with which party to register. In the US, you don't get much of a choice, as we're all aware.

To Wear a Seatbelt, or Not to Wear a Seatbelt...

This may sound kind of obscure, but while I was driving today, I started thinking about seatbelt laws. I’m pretty much a libertarian, and I am completely against the government telling me, or other people what to do in our personal lives, yet I’ve never been offended by seatbelt laws.

Everyone loves a good Bush-ism from our bumbling buddy in the White House, so I'll open with one now:

"See, in my line of work, you got to keep repeating things over and over and over again for the truth to sink in, to kind of catapult the propaganda." (New York, May 2005)

The Political Compass and Your Morals

I've known about the Political Compass survey for quite some time and have taken it in the past. I don't know if anyone else has encountered it before. It throws other factors into the mix instead of just relying on the traditional social scale that we're accustomed to seeing.
