I grew up living in an upper-middle class neighborhood. Sure we went through rough times, like when I lived with my mom, but who doesn't. In fact I still live in an upper-middle class neighborhood. I'm going to a private school next year with quite the price tag, I have all the name brand clothes and purses and shoes I could ask for, and my family goes out to eat quite often.

I thought it would be a typical day. Maybe a little better than a typical day; it was supposed to be an odd above 30 degree day in a Minnesotan February. College applications were finally done. I’d actually finished the twelve page paper for my English class. I could leave the house with a light jacket, not the heavy winter one that protects me from sub-zero wind chills.
