The topic of this blog is somewhat unusual for me, and I'm sure many of you out there will view it as irrelevant and even banal. Even in the midst of Barack Obama securing the Democratic presidential nomination, I've chosen to blog now about... stink bugs and invasive species.
With the invention of planes and ocean liners, it has become remarkably easier to travel the world and explore all these different places. People can go from the US to China in a day, or spend the night on a plane and end up in Europe.
Invasive species have been known to cause problems in many areas. The most well known is probably the cane toad incident in Australia, when cane toads were imported to kill off beetles that were ruining sugar cane fields. Instead, the toads ate everything else in sight. To this day, they remain a problem in Australia.
