In the Pursuit of Happiness

Im currently in the midst of a three-week trip in Korea but it was two nights ago that I had a notion of revelation. In many ways it wasn't a new idea or thought. It was more of a wonderful clarity, as if the particularly sad mood had warranted this sense of harmony.

Something that has been digging under my skin for exactly a week now is how unsuportive people seem to be toward teen suicide. Today is the 19th of February and last Tuesday was the 13th (I know you all can do your math). But what happens on the 13th is either unknown or disregarded by many people. Last Tuesday was the one day in the year that has the most teen suicides.

The notion that we should dedicate ourselves to happiness, both our own and that of others, might seem self-evident. The United States Declaration of Independence lists the pursuit ofhappiness as an inalienable right. But for all this pursuing of happiness,
