ignorance

In high school, I was one of the unfortunate people to get mono, otherwise known as mononucleosis. Otherwise known as "The Kissing Virus". When I got it, I got nothing but grief from friends and acquaintances.

Most of you who know me know that I live with two guys. My dad and my boyfriend. Through this journey it has been quite interesting. Too much Testosterone, being annoyed constantly, and the complaining.

To quote a song from the first female rapper, my girl Queen Latifah, "Who you callin a B***h???!!!"

Once again, the ignorance monster has reared it's ugly head.

Today as I sat in my fifth period class, I heard that oh so familiar phrase that will not seem to die: "acting black."

So far I have asked 2 very religious friends, and one of them even asked a priest...

and nobody has a very good answer.

The Catholic priest stated the following:

I used to own chickens. Lots and lots of the little birds ran around the yard, plopped out eggs, and made more chicks. I am an animal lover, and I got to know these birds like the back of my hand. Instead of doing the typical teen things, I would play with the chickens or the dogs or the cats. But, this entry is specifically about those lesser-known fowls.

So I was reading a local newspaper the other day and I came across one of the funniest things I've read in a long time. It was a letter sent into the paper and the author had some really unique ideas. First they were pushing for people to stay away from the polls in 2008.

I have some friends who happen to be twin sisters, and they sure are some oddballs. There is so much to admire and appreciate about them like how no matter what they are themselves. However, sometimes there are those moments when you are showing too much of yourself. They might criticize me for saying this but when you have an argument, not everybody needs to know about it.
