Sadly, in a country with such abundant wealth, one sixth of children are at risk of hunger, according to the Great American Bake Sale web site. Their web site points out that if you were to visit a soup kitchen, one in every four people standing in line would be a kid. Around the world, there are some 26,500 children die every day. That is equivalent to: 1 child dying every 3 seconds, 18 children dying every minute, or a 2004 Asian Tsunami occurring every week.
