As gas prices keep rising, even tasks like mowing the lawn is becoming more expensive. Sick of paying more to get the job done? Even if the gas was cheap, who likes mowing the lawn anyway? Well, there’s a solution: edible estates!!

Rediscovering my country

Tagged:  •    •    •    •    •    •    •

This is the first of a series of entries about my trip back to my country, Taiwan.*

I am near the end of my trip here in Taiwan. I've only returned thrice since migration to the states 13 years ago, twice of which are related to death of a relative, and all of which lasted less than two months.

Funeral Cost of the Future: No Vault, No Casket, No Embalming

Home Is Where the Heart Is

Home. It's the one place you can go where you know you will be safe, loved, and cared for. It's a haven, a shelter, somewhere to find peace. My home is wherever my family happens to be. I live in a typical suburbia townhome with my mother and two younger sisters. My mom is probably one of the strongest women I know.

She is going through this period of intense thought concerning romantic relationships, and was equating the way a particular man makes her feel with the way the Sistine Chapel makes her feel.

Fatherless

Tagged:  •    •    •    •    •

My sister teaches Pre-K and has children with special needs that they're hoping to get to and work with so they will be ready in time for kindergarten and not have to live life in special classes. A few days ago we were talking about her kids, and she said that not a single kid her class of 12 has a father that lives at home.
