The Importance of Tradition

This morning I woke up, tired, and upset about leaving gleeful dreamland to enter my last day of spring break. Then I realized HOLY COW it's Easter!

Pay It Forward

This blog was written around the holiday season (Christmas) but is still applicable any day.

I read about an especially thoughtful Starbucks customer from somewhere in the Midwest or somewhere. At any rate, they were not in California.

Thanksgiving

Tagged:  •    •    •    •

Thanksgiving, as so wonderfully portrayed by Pilgrims and Indians, is a time that many enjoy. It becomes socially acceptable to eat like gluttons, play football in the yard, and then take an hour long nap. Honestly, what could be better? I cannot imagine not having Thanksgiving. Every year I have celebrated at my grandparents house. Except this year.

Remember The Good Times

Tagged:  •    •    •    •    •    •

Remember the first time we spent together, how we wanted it to last forever.
I'd lay in your arms as you'd hold me tight, dreading the time we would leave for the night.
Talking about everything on our mind, completely forgetting about the time.
The cold nights we would spend in your car, hoping no one sees us parked where we are.

Halloween costumes

Tagged:

I want to get a new costume for this year but I dont want to spend the money on it for one night. I want to be this one called Eskimo Kisses which is $30 and the other one is the Harry Potter which is $50. I know of some Halloween parties but I dont know if I should get a costume or not and go have fun or stay at home with the boyfriend and watch scary movies.

Halloween is Ruined!

Halloween or Samhain as it's known 'round this house has always been our favorite holiday. We spend the months leading up to October 31st in an orgy of decorating the house, scoping out costumes for the boys, checking out the awesome displays around town and just generally enjoying the hell out of it. We're like little kids when it comes to Halloween. Absolutely nothing is off-limits.
