This is an article about gun control I wrote for the school newspaper when I was a senior in high school. Just your typical conservative/libertarian argument against gun control. It's not necessarily 100% what I believe to this day, but I have love for all of my children.

Some news sources did not air or print Obama's entire comment, but according to the Huffington Post and CNN.com, here's what he said:
"You go into these small towns in Pennsylvania and, like a lot of small towns in the Midwest, the jobs have been gone now for 25 years and nothing's replaced them. ...
So...it seems that political types and all major U.S. news network have agreed to tut that Obama made a boob of himself in San Francisco. How dare he insensitively reduce small-town Americans' preoccupation with the second amendment, Moses's tablets, and border-hopping, job-stealing, welfare-sapping immigrants to our underlying frustration with the thinness of our pocketbooks?
I was recently educated on the preliminary stages of a controversial program in Washington, DC called Safe Homes. The program was set to begin in March of this year which would have involved door-to-door police interrogation tactics in high-crime communities.
Sitting outside between classes the other day, a friend of mine asked me a question that bothered me. She needed my advice because her little boy's daycare had talked to her about a problem with her son that they wanted her to fix and she was unsure what to do about it. He is not even two years old yet and is not allowed to watch violent television shows, nor does he own any toy guns.

Would legalizing the carrying of guns on college campuses produce positive or negative results?
Guns are really very simple machines that anyone who has a logical thinking prossess could make. Why is everyone so afraid of guns. i took a pistol just the other day, took the clip out, opened the slide and handed it to my girlfriend. i told her to press the slide release, the slide slammed closed and she freaked.
