growing older

My parents have always been over protective. When I was eleven, I was only allowed to ride my bike between mine and my neighbor's driveway. When I turned thirteen, I still wasn't allowed to walk around town by myself; I had to bring a friend. When I was fifteen, my dad still questioned me about PG13 movies. Now, at seventeen, I feel trapped.

When I was younger I told my mother, "I am never growing up from Anime. NEVER." I spent thousands of dollars on it, buying a DVD once a week, importing movies from Japan back here to America, spending hours upon hours in Japantown hauling back pound after pound of manga in a language I swore one day I would be able to read.
