At my school we have a very unusual way of going about taking finals.... our rule is this:
if you haven't missed a class more than three days that semester and you are not failing the class you don't have to take the final. Now I think this idea can be good or bad.
As May 3rd approaches, another grade of students are preparing for the most important test of their lives: the SATs. They have studied as much as they can; memorizing tricks, working on mathmatic skills, and improving their writing for their future. No amount of studying can prepare them for being tired and being in agony during a three and half hour long test.
Have you ever wondered if that paper you have been slaving away at for hours upon hours is really going to help you get anywhere you want to go in life?
ohh, you punched me right between the eyes. I didn't even think I would break my A's in that class, regardless of the lack of studying. But I did. And i know you were my fault.
Okay, so you didn't do as well as you expected and you received a grade that you think is unfair. So what do you do? Well, hire an attorney of
course and sue! This is absolutely ridiculous and this recently happened t the University of Massachusetts.
I don't know about you, but, as a student, I feel that in today's schools grades count for too much and learning too little. As long as a student obtains a good grade, who really cares whether or not he/she actually learned the material? The new motto: Ace the test, forget the material.
