Car Insurance Discrimination Against Young People and the Reasons for It

I assume a lot of the good members at Progressive U are young people like me. Specifically young people from the ages of 18-24. I am a twenty year old male driver and I am thoroughly disgusted that I am made to pay higher rates for auto Insurance (that the government requires me to have) for absolutely no other reason other than my age, gender and bizarrely enough marital status.  Read More »

Gender and its Components

The Creation Myth which has been perpetrated by many religions is a clear indication that gender relations were never meant to be other than advesarial. However one cannot assume that a "man made" explanation for the existence of humankind is authentic. The assumptions made by labeling the genders as the opposite sex is not a biological phenomena but a social construct.  Read More »

The Black Man vs. the White Woman

From what I can tell, gender discrimination is much stronger than racism. I'm not denying that racism is incredibly potent, but I think that sexism is more so. Guys--no offense--have been used to being in control since, essentially, the beginning of the entire human race. And I'm pretty sure that that goes for all people, no matter what race they are.  Read More »

Hey! I Should Be Able To Do That Job Too: Gender Discrimination in The Work Place

Equal pay for equal work, fair and equal opportunities, and overall equality in the workplace, they do not seem like hard requests to fulfill, but throughout the years, women have been denied these requests. Now that women have begun to move ahead, equality has taken a giant leap backwards and not just for women. Gender discrimination has been a huge problem and still is.  Read More »
