I was at work the other day when "Before He Cheats" by Carrie Underwood came on the radio.
I know the song's been on the radio for about two years now, but I never really thought of it in a sociopolitical context before that night.

Women and Men.

I was thinking about the 2008 election, and the democratic candidates especially. More specifically, I was pondering that subconcious question: Who has it worse? Blacks or Women? Who has been more oppressed? Borack or Hilary?

Two teenage girls on their way to Los Angeles flying on Southwest Airlines. They said Southwest flight attendants discriminated against them because they were "young" and "pretty." I watched these two on Dr. Phil today; it was almost hilarious. Not only were their arguments crushed, but they weren't even telling the truth.

Hello everyone and welcome to my first blog here. Ill start off quickly.
I have decided to use this forum to try and voice something that I have wanted to say to a large group of people for a long time. It seems to be needed because such a large group of people in this world, and on here it seems, are not aware enough of themselves and this world as what is.
From what I can tell, gender discrimination is much stronger than racism. I'm not denying that racism is incredibly potent, but I think that sexism is more so. Guys--no offense--have been used to being in control since, essentially, the beginning of the entire human race. And I'm pretty sure that that goes for all people, no matter what race they are.

Equal pay for equal work, fair and equal opportunities, and overall equality in the workplace, they do not seem like hard requests to fulfill, but throughout the years, women have been denied these requests. Now that women have begun to move ahead, equality has taken a giant leap backwards and not just for women. Gender discrimination has been a huge problem and still is.

No matter how much I try, I cannot completely convince myself that I do not discriminate against certain groups of people. Am I a bad person now?
