Gay Marriage

This is perhaps one of the most disgusting attempts by state government to remove the rights of its citizens I have ever read, seen, or heard about. And it's all happening right here in our sunny little state of Florida.

Don’t you dare judge me like I have an easier life then yours.

Do not mistake that tension you feel as disdain for your life.

Because I haven't heard a good one yet. Usually, I just hear the same old arguments like, "Marriage is between a man and a woman!" I am apt to respond, "Says who?" Almost invariably, the answer I get is: "God!"

I live in a small, mostly Christian town, that's generally pegged as being conservative. It's not an area that's know for being open-minded, so the first local Pride Festival created a stir.

I do not understand the hoopla over the gay marriage debate.

Unless you happen to be homosexual, the legalization of marriage for gays has absolutely no impact on your life. It doesn't invalidate or even impact your hetero marriage one bit. No one will put a gun to your head and force you into a gay marriage. If you're not in favor of gay marriage, don't have one. It's as simple as that.

This has been a really exciting week for homosexuals in California. They are all finally getting married thanks to the California supreme court ruling but unfortunately, some right wing conservative are angry that gay people have now destroyed marriages.

Finally, gay marriage is legal in California. I'm probably gonan end up saying the same thing as everyone else who approves of gay marriage, but , to me, this is an important issue and I feel like writing a blog about it. Around sixth or seventh grade is when I started hearing about gay mariage and since I went to a Catholic school I would mostly hear "G-od made Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve".

Marriage is a sacred and religious act, as many on the other side of the fence on this issue believe. There are spiritual groups, religious denominations, and clergy that sanctify and condone gay marriage. I am in this camp as a Unitarian Universalist seminary student.
