I left ProgressiveU in March due to a disagreement over the handling of certain issues beyond my control (and it had nothing to do with my maturity level). Since then, I've been really bored. You have no idea what it's like to have nothing to do on the internet (seeing as you're reading this post). I have, however, never quit reading blogs posted on ProU.
As gas prices keep rising, even tasks like mowing the lawn is becoming more expensive. Sick of paying more to get the job done? Even if the gas was cheap, who likes mowing the lawn anyway? Well, there’s a solution: edible estates!!
When my friends start complaining about the high gas prices I respond, “It’s about time!” They then look at me with confused disgust long enough for an explanation. There is a bright side to these ridiculous petrol prices. As my biology teacher, Dr. Lishak, explained freshman year, the rise in gas prices pressures people to conserve for once.
Here is a mega list of solutions to lower Gasoline Prices
1. Tax the oil companies.- Tried before does not work.(ala Jimmy Carter)
2. Pass a law saying the oil companies must take their profits and put them in new refineries.
3 Lower the speed limit to 45 MPH-everyone gets mad but it works.
4. Force the farmers to sell soy and corn to ethanol refiners at a lower price-this works
Every week when my gas tank gets low, I drive around looking for the cheapest gas station. Every week, I settle for a higher price than I promised I'd pay. Last week, I said I won't pay over $3.79; even though I knew I place I could get it for $3.77. This week, I went, "$3.89? That's not a bad deal." Most of the gas stations around me average $3.99 to $4.05.
I’ve found the perfect solution to combating rising gas prices!
Electricity? Corn? Soy? Algae? Hydrogen?
No, no, no, and no. With my solution, you can still continue using the traditional gasoline product we’ve all come to know and love.
The solution is simple.
This not a gimick. The First and easiest thing that you can do to reduce emissions and increase your fuel mileage is to use gasoline that does not I repeat DOES NOT CONTAIN Ethanol. It reduces fuel millages by up to 2 MPG thus it increases emissions not decreases. Also use the highest octane or cetane(diesel).
Well, my friend and I recently did some research on alternative fuel sources, and look what we found! I was amazied that more research had not been done on using biodiesel as a source of fuel. Here are some facts:
• Algae is the fastest growing plant in the world.
•Algae consumes 75% of the CO2 absorbed by plants
• Algae is not food; it will not raise food prices.
