The idea has been toyed with for years, drilling in the arctic. Land that has been set aside for over 40 years, has recently reemerged for the long lasting debate of whether or not drilling in the arctic will solve our soaring gas prices. Drilling in the arctic would create up to 330,000 jobs, but at the same it would be destroying an already delicate ecosystem.
It’s clear to anyone who has been in contact with the public in the United States, that people are NOT happy with current gas prices. It is also clear that we are NOT happy with the current war.
When I first got my license three years ago, gas prices were beginning to rise. I never got to enjoy buying gas for a dollar or hardly two dollars. At those prices I would have traveled the world. But that is a day long gone, but we may experience it again. . . for awhile.
Yes, gas is expensive. Get over it.
People sit and bitch all the time about the gas prices, but then have no trouble blowing money on designer clothes and makeup. We go to restaurants and buy overpriced food. We go to theaters to watch overpriced movies. We go to Best Buy and buy overpriced video games. We go to record stores and buy overpriced music.
It was a dark, rainy night. I was racing on the highway to meet my friend for dinner. Looking down at the gas gage, the needle hit Empty. I pulled off the highway at the next gas station, handed my debit card to the gas attendant, and asked for a full tank of gas. It was costly, but much needed. The gas pump finally stopped at $40 with a little over 10 gallons of gas.
Everyone feels the pain at the pump, or at least we are now. The entire economy is shifting around as the price of oil continues to claim. In fact I don't remember the last time I watched the morning news and didn't hear, "Today gas reached an all time high of..." Exactly. While I admit that to some this is like a curse, but for the future it's for the best.
This not a gimick. The First and easiest thing that you can do to reduce emissions and increase your fuel mileage is to use gasoline that does not I repeat DOES NOT CONTAIN Ethanol. It reduces fuel millages by up to 2 MPG thus it increases emissions not decreases. Also use the highest octane or cetane(diesel).
I keep getting invited to these groups on Facebook about how to slash gas prices. It's nice that everyone has these idealistic concepts and principles but honestly, they just won't work. See gas corporations such as Exxon and Shell don't care about consumer culture the way a lot of other, noticeably smaller businesses do.
