In Economics there are things called elastic and inelastic. Gas falls in to the inelastic section. This means that when things happen in the field of gas things stays the same. This does not mean that things will not change in this field just it will take a lot more to effect this field. Looking at gas, we can see this taking place. Gas has increased in price but people keep buying gas.

no more rubber meeting the road...
Remember the good old days when gas was only $1.50 per gallon? I say good old days, but I suppose it wasn't too long ago.
Now the national average is $4.04 per gallon, or that was what it was yesterday. I don't know about anyone else, but this scares me. By the time I start college, it will likely be $5 per gallon. No college road trips for our generation...
A Way To Lower Gas Prices
Every week when my gas tank gets low, I drive around looking for the cheapest gas station. Every week, I settle for a higher price than I promised I'd pay. Last week, I said I won't pay over $3.79; even though I knew I place I could get it for $3.77. This week, I went, "$3.89? That's not a bad deal." Most of the gas stations around me average $3.99 to $4.05.

The Death of SUV's
I've been seeing a lot of articles about the death of the SUV. Coming back from FL there was a billboard with an SUV picture and the tag line, Donate Your Vehicle. There seem to be a lot of folks wishing they hadn't bought into these gas guzzlers.

How do YOU drive?
That may seem like a strange question, but just listen to this: A young woman in a brand new Toyota Camry is cruising along on the interstate at an average speed of 48 miles per hour, never topping 60 mph, accelerating slowly and only driving on perfect 75-degree days, with the windows down. And from all this she ekes out 34 miles per gallon.
