I walked into my local McDonald's the other day because my mother and I were hungry. I really don't eat fast food, but I was in the mood. I ordered a Quarter Pounder with Cheese meal and was asked, "Do you want your free Quarter Pounder with that?" I turned around and noticed a sign that said something like "Free Quarter Pounder or Big Mac with purchase of one of the same".
I had a conversation the other day with a friend that immigrated here from the UK. He made a comment that most American poor are stereotypically obese. He didn't understand how, if these people were so poor, they could get enough food to be obese. The key word there is stereotypically, but I did explain my thoughts on the subject.
You're at a drive-thru. The cashier asks for your order. You pick a salad. yay for you! Finally a healthy alternative to the stock burger combos. The only problem is when they ask if you'd like anything else & you order a fry.
That's where America loses it. We just can't seem to help ourselves.
Fast food restaurants are bad only when you eat there like every day!!!
