That Reflection in the Mirror

Tagged:  •    •    •    •    •    •    •    •

I was wondering just now as I have wondered many times before, what are people thinking when they look in the mirror before they leave the house? I'm not talking about fashion choices here or a personal fashion police investigation on my part. I just mean, what do people think of themselves in that instant that they're ready to go and take that last glance in the mirror?

Degradation of Inspiring Fashion

Two words. Michael Kors.
Everything that is wrong with American fashion. Even though we are the number one country in the world our fashion industry is pathetic. L.A. does not even count because it is too commercialized and offers no real inspiration or dedication to the craft. However, New York Fashion Week is the little saving grace of the States. It always draws in the crowds.

Hey guys, this is my first blog as you can tell I AM a female, lucky me! Anyways I love fashion and of course I'm from New York but I moved to Florida and this is why I had to write this blog. No this blog do not discriminate against people who can't afford things, this blog is for the people who have no style and need help.

What is it about material things that make us so greedy? Why do I spend my extra money on clothes and handbags when people are starving around the world? Does this make me selfish, or am I just enjoying the opportunities and luxuries I've created for myself? (Your input is quite welcome and appreciated)

I hate the way style has disappeared these days. We're at the pinnacle of civilization, we have infinite means to anything we want, and people are stuck in simplistic, lazy trends of dressing themselves. What really pisses me off are those types of people who don't even try to look attractive, but still shell out big bucks just to show that they know what kinds of brands are hot these days.

Mohawk Fever!

History of the Mohawk
By Alberto Aquino
I have been looking at the people walking down the street and I have noticed that all the "fashionable" people have mohawks. I began to wonder where this all started.

The Making of an Edible Woman, Part I

I was six feet tall in college. My Body Mass Index was 16. I won’t tell you the weight that corresponds to that, because this is not a thinspirational post. The obsessive among you probably have the formula memorized and may figure it out. I know I would have. For those of you who have no idea what I am talking about, a body mass index of 16 is two points underweight. A healthy woman will fall between 18 and 24 on the index. I was not healthy. And yet, I was still too fat. Or that’s what everyone in my life told me.

America's Next Top Model Is......

Tagged:  •    •    •    •

I am going to talk about America's Next Top Model, which airs it's 10th season tonight! I must say, for a person who doesn't care for celebrities, or the whole "fashion world" and it's many rules, I am IN LOVE with this show. I defintely think that the whole show is made, because of the "host", Tyra Banks. She certainly isn't the "industry standard" of what a typical model is!
