China is not a monster.

Tagged:  •    •    •    •    •    •

I've realized that I haven't been sharing the whole story of my life in China or the real picture of China in general. I've been positive at times; negative at times, but I haven't clearly illustrated how my perspective has changed recently. Now, I try to dwell in an in between non-biased space and give events that happen a deeper look.

A more proper system of punishment for plagiarism.

The punishment for plagiarism needs to manifest pending on the severity of the offense and only under a well-established criterion. Unfortunately, many students become the victim in a plagiarism crisis because of undefined rules or simple human error.

Volunteerism is Selfishness

Tagged:  •    •    •    •    •    •    •    •    •

As humans, we pride ourselves in our superior intelligence, customs and advanced way of living. We make great displays of our generosity by donating to charity every christmas and volunteer once in while, walking away with one less hungry person in the world and a "fuzzy feeling". This does appear to be generous, but in fact is only self-serving.

Non-Standard Conditions: Should we accommodate?

Yes, we've all taken the dreaded standardized tests. Whether they be the TAAS, the CSAP, the SAT, the ACT, the MCAT, LSAT, GRE.... The list just goes on and on. Many are used for assessments of schools, others are used for college entrance exams, others for professional schools, and then there's the subset that is used to license professionals. As you get higher on the list, they tend to cause more stress for everyone. But then there are those people that get special privileges when taking these tests.

Opposite Rascism

Tagged:  •

Rascism was supposedly eliminated years ago, but when it comes to rascism against other races, it is still present. I am looking for scholarships and one that i came across was being given out by Bill Gates. The scholarship will pay for all expenses for up to 6 years of school, but there is one condition. You cannot be white.

So That's How It Feels To Watch Your Mother Die

Tagged:  •    •    •    •    •    •    •    •    •

As I looked down into my mother's blank eyes, I realized just how terrifying it was to know the person who gave you life was dying in front of you. It haunts me to this day, knowing I almost lost the one person who will love me no matter what happens in this world.

A few (real) questions about illegal immigration...

Tagged:  •    •    •    •    •    •    •    •    •

After you read this, please respond to the questions. Yes, they are partially rhetoric, and the goal of this blog is to provoke some kind of thought, response, and awareness. If all you want to write in the end is "You're a b*tch, d!e." that's fine with me. Just let me know you're alive, let me know you've read it to the end. But please, if you can, make an intelligent response. Leave your thoughts and opinions, and if you have a good argument, please argue!

If a people really felt that life in their own country was so terrible, why haven't they tried to change it?

Does anyone have any idea what financial and economical damage illegal immigrants really do to the U.S.?
