According to my believe guidance comes form God Who blesses the ability to say something. It is His grace which makes the words of a prophet or caliph fruitful. It so happens some times that a scholar cannot understand something but a common God fearing person gets the point. The qualities of God loving believers are:
Most little girls play with Barbie Dolls when they are young. It is an ideal toy for children in our society, but has anyone ever studied the effects they have on our children's minds?
In America if you lived in the 50's or if your old enough to remeber politcs up through the early 90's then you probably have a skewed view on communism. most likely if you got all your 'facts' and information from the propaganda machine that is the TV media you believe communism is inherantly evil and anything associated with communism is evil.
As humans, we pride ourselves in our superior intelligence, customs and advanced way of living. We make great displays of our generosity by donating to charity every christmas and volunteer once in while, walking away with one less hungry person in the world and a "fuzzy feeling". This does appear to be generous, but in fact is only self-serving.
Just recently I went to a church revival. I didn't want to go, but a friend of mine thinks my sould needs to be saved. Saved? From what? Am I that spiritually dead that I need something to fill a 'void' in my wretching soul. I don't think so, but they do. I humored them.
I am sick today. Unable to really move around or get out of bed. It makes me think. It makes me think of all the times I've needed help and never recieved it, at least not by Christians. It made me think of when my friend broke her foot and I (an agnostic) was the only one who helped her.
I realized, as I was considering the many things that I could blog about, that as my first post I should do something... momentous. Interesting.
Love in Action (http://www.loveinaction.org/home.aspx), a Tennessee based religious Christian organization has received national attention for it's efforts in tying to turn gay youth to "straight youth." This organization makes claims that homosexual behavior is immoral and links it to therapy treatment alongside pornography and promiscuity.
