As we go through the hall ways in school, we see so many groups standing around chatting. Even if you don't pay close attention, it is quite noticeable that these groups are usually united under one binding factor---ethnicity.

Why there are segregated 'groups' in the halls....

Mixed Origins
Growing up I always felt different. Most of the time it was subconsciously, but every time I would be at a family function, I could feel eyes on me. When someone asked me what I "was" as if I were a thing... I felt like I didn't belong. Like I wasn't like everyone else.

lo siento, but im not mexican...
One of my biggest pet peeves would be when people assume I'm Mexican or Puerto Rican soley due to the fact that I'm Hispanic and you can always find me talking in spanish. But that is not the case. I am Colombian and Guatemalan, and very proud to be Hispanic.

Black... Isn't That A Color?
I am dark-skinned. I was born in Caracas, Venezuela; that would make me a Latino. I have Haitian blood flowing through my veins;... so I'm not really Latino, I'm Haitian...?

A taste of being a double-minority
I’ve always been aware of the double minority blood flowing through my veins. I’ve always known that I am always going to be different from someone; my tri-racial heritage is always going to exclude me from something.

Diversity Unites America
Diversity, the "state of being diverse", "difference", "multiformity" according to the dictionary. And unbeknown to the dictionary, there is actually another definition for diversity, and that's the United States.
Everything isn't about race
A year ago, a young hispanic girl climbed on her bus to high school. She wore a starry red shirt with a blue skirt that had the same red stars. Somewhere between her home and the high school, a young man of caucasian descent sexually harassed her.

The beginning of a general theory: growth, excess, and consumption
I am working on a general theory. A general theory attempts to account for everything. The most obvious example of a general theory attempt is in Physics with its goal to deduce everything to a single theory. I am not a physicist though, I am a philosopher (student of).
