Empathy: Greatest Curse, Greatest Blessing

The little girl knew she was different. Something would happen, and her friends would be of mixed feelings, forming different opinions. She would be left alone in the neutral plane, understanding each individual's stance perfectly, but perpetually unable to choose a side. She had no opinion, and could not explain why.

A few months ago we were at camp. It was an exhausting experience. But besides that it was fun. It was something worth storing in one’s room of memories. It was memorable. But I do not want to relive it – yet.

The price I must pay

Memories beginning to fade away, disappearing into the shadows. The good times seem to have left, leaving behind an empty soul. My heart of gold is beginning to tarnish, I find myself no longer wanting to care, I want to break free from this heart that binds me to them. As I look upon a starry night, I lie in wonder, thoughts of ridding myself of them linger. I fear I am losing what I am. Or is it I am not meant for this?
