Everyone has said it in the days leading up to the election. No matter the outcome, this would be a truly historic election. But the focus of those saying this has primarily been on the Presidential election, not the other parts of the election from around the country. Granted, our Presidential election is huge, and I suspect because of it, we will see a great deal of change in the next 4 years. Read More »

Post-Election Bitterness
I can honestly say that, up until late Tuesday night, it had been some time since I was proud to be an American. Many foreign nations are rather angry with the USA over the wars in the Middle East and our bumbling President Dubya. But the fact that Americans elected an African-American (actually, biracial) President less than five decades after integration is flooring, and terrific. Read More »

Election Results
So I’m really, really depressed right now. Things have gone from bad to worse. Obama is now President Obama. For the record, while this country still has freedom of speech, I can’t STAND that man and anyone who voted for him will regret it some day. HOW could you have voted for someone who is so obviously a puppet as Obama? Read More »

I Guess I Just Wasn't Listening
Like many of the directives handed down this campaign age (because it’s been too damned long to be just a year), I missed that memo that we should take the time to write about our voting strategies. Read More »

Your Vote Really Doesn't Matter
Us bloggers, myself included, like to encourage each other to vote. We're always piping, "your vote counts." It's nice to think we're important; that when we cast our ballots, we've made a difference. Well, turns out that's totally and utterly false. Your vote really doesn't matter, and the math proves it. Political Crossroads
I've said repeatedly that I'm going to vote for John McCain next week. But despite the imperturbable political front I've displayed for the past few months, there's been a sort of political panic in my mind. John McCain is not the candidate he used to be. Democrats make fun of his use of the word "maverick," but he really was a maverick once upon a time. Now, it seems that's not as true anymore. I am a Republican, and I am a moderate, too. I belong to the party but think independently. I feel like John McCain's been pushing me away. Read More »

Quandary of the Independent
The recent discussions about third party candidates here on ProU got me thinking. Sure, I'd entertain the notion of voting for a few third party candidates, but that's just not very realistic. A vote for a third party is a vote which is wasted, and nobody here can contest that. The winner of the upcoming presidential election will be Obama or McCain; the minor party candidates and independents do not stand a chance. Read More »
