Okay, so I was recently scanning all I have written for various blogs in the past few weeks, because I have been backed up on a demand for people wanting me to write on various music blogs/political blogs/personal sites. I found an article rather intriguing, wrote up on it with my own personal account relaying to the big picture and here it is.

It's the first night away from home, without family, away from your favorite blanket and your favorite night-light. You're scared to death but excited at the same time. It's a new environment with sleeping bags spread across the floor and whispers echoing.

My buoyant ambiance is dampened with the culture shock of this unknown territory of Egypt. I am sitting in the back of this archaic taxi, catching snippets of anxious eyes in the rear view mirror. For the first time I can see the resemblance of my mom and me in that mirror, the fact that has been pushed away for so long.

Being an Egyptologist...
I have always been fascinated by the Ancient Egyptian culture. Now, I admit that it is highly romanticized by today’s cultures, and I am sure that has influenced my interpretation of the Ancient Egyptian culture a great deal. Still, I am fascinated by it.
