A crime novelist, Patricia Cornwell, recently made a donation to John Jay College of Criminal Justice in the generous amount of one million dollars. In an interview with the associated press, at which she discussed her motivations for the donation, she was asked at some point a question about mistakes she had seen made by law enforcement at crime scenes.

Everone out there has the ability to help save another person that really needs it. There are a countless amount of people who need to recieve blood or a blood product to stay alive or when there is a terrible accident. There are alot of people that rely on others to donate blood to help them survive. I am one of those people.
Two Thursdays ago, I decided to donate blood. It was... interesting. I was very, very scared but I really wanted to donate blood. Some people asked me why I wanted to donate if I was so scared, I donated because I wanted to help. Not enough people donate.
