Some of the first words we learn as children are cat and dog. We are taught these words at the beginning of our verbal endeavors because they are short, easy to sound out, and simple to spell. They are also good to use because they can be attached to a concrete visual reference.
Pets affect families in positive ways everyday. They are good companions and keep the kids busy regardless if it is playing ball or taking a walk. Children learn how to care for other things which teaches them responsibility. Children also learn that when there is one friend to rely on it is a dog. That is why I want a German Shepard.German Shepard’s are good companion.
Not only do people judge humans by their color, religion, and such, now dogs are included in that as well. Large black dogs, such as Rottweilers and Labrador Retrievers, are becoming hard to be adopted. And this is a result of them being born the color black. Take Gozer, for instance. Gozer is a Rottweiler-hound mix living in California.
I had quite a scare this morning. My father called me and told me my dog wasn't doing so well. He said he was going to take her to the vet as soon as they opened and she might have to be put down. I, of course, was devastated. Mostly because I would not get the chance to say my goodbyes.
Breeds, like fashions, go in and out of style. The 40's and the 50's saw the American pit bull terrier at the peak of its popularity as a family pet. Disney's 101 Dalmatians created an international Dalmatian craze.
At the turn of the millenium, we saw a new fad raise its head. This is the designer dog.
I worked on a piece about designer dogs all day today at work... and left my journal there when my shift was up. I'll drive over and pick it up tomorrow, but I'm really angry at myself for forgetting! It's not done yet, but I'm very pleased with how it's coming.

It's a beautiful day today. For whatever reason, the dogs behave better when the weather is nice, so I've taken out my journal to take advantage of this lull in activity. In a single glance around the room, I can spot a huge variety of dogs, all with different origins.
Everyone is passionate about something. For some people it's something as simple as a hobby, such as baseball or music. For others, it's politics and social liberties, such as gay marriage.
For me, it's animals.
I grew up with animals. I have animals. I work with animals. Every single aspect of my life can, somehow, be traced back to animals.
