Okay, so in the past week the utter nonsense of labeling people has really come to light in my mind.
Not because it's unfair.
Not because it's based primarily on appearance, which the majority of us can't change significantly.
Not because it's often hurtful and exclusionary.
Rather, because it just doesn't matter.
To me, there’s a difference between ‘ignorance’ and ‘stupidity’. Humor me for a moment, please.
As an artist, I often find myself wondering what makes art art. At what point is something purely materials, and at what point is it art?
Here's a poem I wrote last year when some of my friends were gushing about how "in love" they were with their boyfriends. They were talking about love and we got into this big discussion about what it means. It means more than just....being in love with someone. It means love as in loving people. Loving humanity. And showing it. And so I wrote this.
