The primary season is over, finally!

Tell me this people do we have the right to be called "The United States of America"
When we see a homeless person on the streets asking for a spare dime
do we honestly want to give them any of our time.
When we see a little girl clearly being abused
Do we really think she has nothing to lose
When your friend are smoking tons of cigarettes a day
Do we really think they would be okay.

I just tried to argue effectively for the purpose of rallies like Take Back the Night. Now I'm going to do a little more musing about sexual assault awareness, especially advertising. And I'm going to start by talking about Eliot Spitzer.

With the season premiere of Lost came a message:

Stay tuned after Lost for the series premiere of Eli Stone. If you don't, you'll miss out on the custom-made to confuse you about Lost even more commercial(s).

I took the bait. In doing so, I found myself hooked on ABC's new television drama Eli Stone.

Does controversy enhance or detract from someone's social standing?

It seems as if the answer to this question is two sided.
Controversy can boost one's popularity in the public market by drawing interest to a certain individual or individuals.
Or, it can shame someone.

Okay I want to talk about a few issues that deal with young adults in the world today but today I am only going to bring one to the table. Abuse; it comes in many forms and whilst many people will feel depressed from it they often times don’t really know the issue that is right in front of them.

How can it be more socially acceptable to have an abortion, even multiple abortions and not get talked about then to have a baby and be talked about and looked down upon by everyone? Why are teen girls who get pregnant and make the personal choice to have their child usually the ones being called sluts and being talked about by their peers and by adults and even their parents?

Several times since Clinton and Obama announced their run for the White House, we've been asked here at ProgressiveU and elsewhere if the United States was ready for a woman or black president. My answer to that question has always been a simple yes.
